A Deposition is a question and answer session with the other side’s attorney.  The attorney for the other side will ask you questions that you will give answers to.  There will be a court reporter (Stenographer) taking all the information and keeping a record of everything that is being said in the deposition.

What Kinds of Questions will be Asked in a Deposition?

Generally, the defense attorney, if it is in a personal injury case, will ask the Plaintiff general background information; including name, address, date of birth, if you are married and who is in your family, education history and so forth.  Then you will be asked information about your physical status, how you were before you got hurt and then asked about your accident. How the accident happened? Who are the witnesses? Did you talk to anyone after the accident and what was said?  Then a lot of information about the medical and physical condition and the impact that the injuries had on your life.
