Is DCF open during the Coronavirus?

My understanding is and this is not official is that a lot of the DCF offices and the screeners for the 51A’s are still accepting the screen calls. I believe a lot of them are using google voice or something similar and working remotely. My understanding is that the Area Directors are in the DCF offices and other mangers or supervisors and most if not all the workers are working remotely.
This obviously has an impact both on emergency cases and non-emergency cases. There are a lot of protocols that DCF must follow in terms of visiting homes and visiting children in person. Again, given with what is going on with the health risk and social distancing my understanding is that DCF is doing more phone calls with children and families. I think the emergency 51A’s are still ongoing but there is much more limited scope and a lot of cases that are not an emergency or expedient interviews from my experience is still being addressed but at a much lower level as DCF seems to be doing it through triage as with what is going on throughout. It is important to still have contact or leave messages if you have matters going on with DCF but understand that there are limitations as with everyone and to make sure even if your documenting the phone calls or letters that you act in an appropriate manner.
