Marijuana use and DCF Involvement.

It still has not been completely consistent about how involved DCF would be if the parents using marijuana or even using other drugs or alcohol. Part of what DCF looks at might be the amount, location and the impact on the parenting. For example, if a parent is drinking significantly or using a significant amount of marijuana but they are not in a caretaking role and someone else is caring for the child during that period. There is arguably less of a nexus or less of a connection between either legal or illegal drug or other substance abuse issues and neglect. You want to be careful though it depends a lot on the worker, the office and a lot of different criteria.
