In Massachusetts, the courts can factor in the child’s preference and rationale. The child does not get to decide where they live until they turn 18 years old when custody orders are no longer by the court. Again, the court will look at the child’s best interest and the rationale. The older and more mature decision making the more the child’s input will be factored in.
