There was an open letter from the Chief Justice of the Probate and Family Court of Massachusetts John D. Casey on 3/24/20. It would be beneficial for litigants and attorneys to review. It is important to note that parenting orders are not stayed during the COVID-19. It is important based on what Justice Casey states that children spend time with both of their parents and that each parent can engage in family activities where it is provided by the court. However, if it is a case where the parent must self-quarantine or is otherwise restricted from having contact with others, then both parents should cooperate to allow for parenting time by video or conference. It is a good letter with a variety of links for parents and attorneys to look at.
In addition, I have had several clients call each week about different concerns. If you have an attorney, you should talk to your attorney about the order and the different options given your unique circumstances.
