The guidelines in Massachusetts can go up to the age of 23 in certain circumstances. Many times, there can be a significant overlap between allocating the tuition and housing, and other college expenses, versus how that impacts a child support guideline, if at all.

Choosing the school, about how those factors are in, in terms of the school, the contributions to the school should be made, and whether something like a community college or a state school should be prioritized over a private one, and how that would be factually determined.

The courts would also look at what sort of financial aid considerations or loans the child would get, and the courts will generally look at the financial circumstances of both parents when deciding how to divide those expenses, and what the child support guidelines should be.
