DCF cannot tell you the name(s) of the person(s) who reported you.  Sometimes it can be anonymous. It is supposed to give you as much details as possible about the allegations and sometimes people can make an assumption or figure out who most likely filed the report. Sometimes that person may be making a false report out of anger or spike; or may exaggerate the situation.

You can sometimes tell that to DCF, but it is important to be aware that DCF is going to report anything that you say, so you want to be careful with regards to decision making, and again, having an attorney can be an advantage.

If you have an attorney, the attorney will make a request for the report, but you can also make a written request to the Director of that regional office of DCF. So if it is Taunton area office, you would be sending a written request to the Regional Director of the Taunton DCF Office. If it is Brockton, you would be sending the request to the regional office in Brockton. You can also make a copy to the Commissioner.

You should also in many times file a 51A Fair Hearing Appeal, if it becomes supported against you.
