As you probably guessed the answer is YES! Be very careful what you post. I have seen people claim to have no money in front of a judge and be confronted with Facebook posts of expensive vacations or new cars. I have seen many cases where one parent badmouths the other ( and sometimes the kids). There are instances where people post pictures drinking or even using drugs that can come back and bite them.

Most people know that social media can impact future jobs and reputation but it can also be a large factor in a family law case. Understand that it can be brought to the court’s attention and be used to cross examine you. In all cases, be careful what you post but particularly if you are in the middle of a family law or divorce case
