There are some exceptions that will not normally be wiped out and that can include money in domestic relation cases, such as child support, alimony, separate support fines and some taxes.

Importantly, debt that you do not list in your bankruptcy petition loans that you knowingly gave false information to a creditor for; if they were lied on for making the loan; and debts that resulted from willful or malicious harm.

Generally, student loans owed to a school or government body, there are some exceptions, but it is very limited, if the court decides that the payment would be an undue hardship.

Mortgages and other leans which are not paid in the bankruptcy case, but the bankruptcy will be able to wipe out your obligation to pay any additional money if the property is sold by the creditor.
